Terelj

Introduction.

Gorkhi-Terelj National Park is one of the national parks of Mongolia. It is connected with Ulaanbaator by a paved road, one of the few in Mongolia, some 80 km to the east of the city.

A small southern portion of the park is developed for tourists, with restaurants, souvenir shops, horses and camels for rent, and tourist ger camps. However, most of the park is undeveloped and difficult to access.

Many Westerners were introduced to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park when the CBS reality television program The Amazing Race visited the park in the second episode of its tenth season.

We were lucky enough to visit the park several times during our stay and these images taken in autumn and winter I hope will give you sense of the wild beauty of the place.
